ICAN Aviation Chapter Inaugurates 5 New Committees

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Aviation Chapter convened a special meeting in Lagos. They brought together accountants from across the country.
The hybrid event, which was well-attended, featured the inauguration of five new sub-committees. These groups will boost member participation and visibility.
Chairman of the ICAN Aviation Chapter, Mr. Ayodele Olatiregun, FCA, expressed his satisfaction with the strong member turnout. He highlighted the importance of increased collaboration.
The newly established sub-committees were given specific goals.
These groups are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the chapter’s reach. They are focusing on Fund-Raising, University Relations, and Advocacy.
Technical sub committees inaugurated
They will also manage Technical and Government Relations.
A major highlight was the technical session. It was on “Key Financial Ratios and Performance Metrics in the Aviation Industry.”
The session was led by Dr. Olumuyiwa Adebayo, FCA, a prominent figure. The discussion showed how fundamental financial ratios can be applied. The aim is to improve efficiency and sustainability.
Dr. Adebayo stressed that organizations must balance financial and sustainability goals. He recommended optimizing costs and making data-driven investment decisions.
He also emphasized integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks into operations. The meeting drew praise from attendees.
It further reinforced the growing importance of the ICAN Aviation Chapter.
