The FRCN partnership with Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 is set to redefine aviation storytelling in Nigeria. Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head, Aeronautical Services, MMA2, Mr. Remi Jibodu, reaffirmed this commitment during a strategic engagement in Lagos. He described the relationship between aviation and broadcasting as vital to national growth and economic transformation.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Director, Lagos Operations of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Princess Adenike Adegoke, Mr. Jibodu stressed that deeper collaboration would amplify positive aviation narratives. Meanwhile, he noted that both sectors share a responsibility to shape public perception and drive development. Therefore, sustained cooperation will enhance public awareness of reforms and innovation across the industry.
Mr. Jibodu commended FRCN’s expansive national network and longstanding role in promoting integration and public enlightenment. In addition, he emphasised that operational excellence, innovation and passenger satisfaction remain central to MMA2’s mission. He explained that the terminal was designed not merely as a transit hub, but as a destination offering comfort and convenience.
From its integrated car park to seamless terminal access, every feature supports traveller ease. The art gallery, retail outlets and vibrant food court create a relaxed environment, even during peak periods. Consequently, passengers experience a modern and engaging atmosphere rather than the stress typically associated with air travel.
Referencing the growing Detty December travel surge, Mr. Jibodu highlighted MMA2’s expanding tourism role. He explained that the terminal deliberately projects a modern Nigerian identity to returning diaspora and foreign visitors. As one of the first contact points for travellers, MMA2 carries a strong reputational responsibility for the country.
He expressed confidence that continued collaboration with FRCN would strengthen tourism promotion and aviation growth. Furthermore, such partnership supports regulatory alignment with institutions like the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, ensuring industry standards remain visible and understood by the public. Clear communication, he said, builds trust and drives sector confidence.
FRCN Expands Aviation Awareness Nationwide
Responding, Princess Adenike Adegoke described FRCN as a powerful national platform capable of projecting institutional milestones across Nigeria and beyond. She explained that Lagos Operations alone manages Metro FM 97.7, Radio One 103.5 and Bond FM. Bond FM broadcasts in Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, including local dialects, thereby strengthening inclusivity.
According to Princess Adegoke, wherever Nigerians originate, Radio Nigeria provides a familiar voice through language and culture. Meanwhile, she praised MMA2’s visible infrastructure upgrades and professionalism. She described the terminal as a glowing example of private sector efficiency in airport management.
Princess Adegoke also commended the international rise of Detty December travel traffic into Lagos. She noted that the annual surge has evolved into a global convergence point for travellers. Therefore, aviation stakeholders must leverage this momentum to project Nigeria positively.
The FRCN Director assured MMA2 management of sustained media amplification across terrestrial and digital platforms. In addition, she pledged support through public service announcements and specialised programmes. These initiatives will educate travellers on airport procedures, safety standards and new developments within the sector.
The evolving FRCN collaboration signals more than media engagement. It reflects a strategic alliance designed to strengthen aviation transparency, tourism promotion and economic growth. Through consistent storytelling and operational excellence, both institutions are positioning Nigeria’s aviation industry for sustained national impact.
