[dropcap]R[/dropcap]egional General Manager, FAAN, Mr. Sunday Ayodele, underscores the reopening of the underground car park after 30 years, emphasising the significant benefits for staff.
He highlights various enhancements at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, encompassing improved illumination and cooling, collectively enhancing passenger experience.
Speaking on the sidelines of an inter-agency retreat tagged “One Impression,” Mr. Ayodele shares his vision for the car park, which, when completely cleared, will conveniently accommodate 300 vehicles.
“The car park, closed for three decades, had adversely affected staff who had to park long distances from their offices. Recognizing its potential to alleviate parking stress, we presented our vision to the MD, who gave the go-ahead,” states Mr. Ayodele.
He reveals that they have successfully cleared one of the two car park levels, Minus 1, with a capacity for 150 vehicles. Upon completion of Minus 2, the entire car park will cater to 300 vehicles.
Ayodele stresses exclusive car park access for all MMIA workers, demanding valid On Duty Cards for entry. This security measure reinstates the park’s closure 30 years ago.
Highlighting added value at MMIA, Mr. Ayodele mentions the illumination of the airport.With the D-wing’s reopening, air conditioning units from the E-Wing relocated to boost cooling, enhancing passenger comfort at the old terminal.
He further said in three months since assuming his role a lot has happened and more positives are expected.
