Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is partnering with the Lagos State Government to construct the 2.4-kilometre road project between the Toll Gate Plaza and Gate 13. Meanwhile, FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, emphasized the importance of patience as FAAN advances work on the 2.4-kilometre road project. She made these remarks last weekend while inspecting the road construction at the Service Road.
Furthermore, Mrs. Kuku expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the project, encouraging road users to offer their full cooperation. She stressed the need for support to ensure the timely completion of the 2.4-kilometre road. Additionally, Mrs. Kuku thanked the Lagos State Government for their collaboration, which has significantly boosted the project.
“This road should have been done years ago, but I am glad that we have started it,” Mrs. Kuku said. “We need the full cooperation of all road users and members of the airport community to complete it on time and to the desired specifications.” Moreover, she expressed her gratitude to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for partnering with FAAN to expedite the project’s completion.
She also acknowledged the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo, for his leadership, which has kept FAAN focused. His keen oversight has ensured that the project aligns with the highest standards. FAAN’s collaboration with the Lagos State Government showcases the type of productive partnerships the agency values for enhancing passenger experience.
In conclusion, the project encompasses the complete reconstruction of the road, including drainages, sidewalks, and streetlights, with an expected completion timeline of nine months.
