A vigilant security team at Lagos Airport apprehended five suspected miscreants last Friday at Murtala Muhammed Airport’s JUHI Canal and International Access Road Bridge.

The arrests occurred at 1638hrs during a security operation targeting criminal activities near the JUHI Canal and NAHCO Bridge.

Expressing concern, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria noted the JUHI Canal’s gradual transformation into a potential hideout for criminals, prompting the security team’s intervention.

Shanties erected by miscreants in close proximity to NAHCO Bridge were dismantled during the operation, resulting in the subsequent arrest of five individuals by the Joint Military Task Force (JMTF).

The suspects have been handed over to the Aviation Security Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit (CIIU) for further interrogation and necessary action.

FAAN issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing zero tolerance for any encroachment into the airport environment. Anyone without legitimate business at the airport is urged to stay away.

Assuring proactive measures, FAAN pledged to deal decisively with individuals caught engaging in vandalism or touting at he airports.
