Drs. Demuren, Abou-Zeid inducted into Aviation Hall of Fame as 36 others bag various awards

NO fewer than 38 individuals and organizations bagged the Aviation Africa Tower Award with two of the recipients, Dr. Harold Demuren and Dr. Amani Abou- Zeid getting inducted into the Aviators Africa Hall of Fame Award.

The award ceremony took place at the Radisson Blu Anchorage on October 27, 2021 during the 3rd Aviation Leadership CEOs Forum.

According to organiser Toni Ukachukwu despite challenges in the African Aviation market, some individuals and corporate organisations have shown resilience and great leadership in the year under review.

He stressed that the award, which will be in three categories is aimed at promoting excellence, sustainability, and healthy competition.

The Tower Awards categories include 21 Change makers for individuals, 15 Brands and 2 Hall of Fame awards whose nominations were transparent and votes, technology driven.

Tewolde Gebremarian, Captain Musa Nuhu, Abdrahmane Bethe, Wendelle Stander, Ali Tounsi and Yvonne Makulo all bagged the individual Change makers Leadership Awards for 2021

While George Uriesi, Obi Mbanuzuo were awarded individual Change makers Innovation awards.

Other Change makers individual awards include Allen Onyema: Breaking grounds, Rodger Foster: Rebrand, Sean Mendis: Visionary, Mark Brown: Event; Dr. Felicia Aguabata: STEM; Sindy Foster: Impact Awards, Hassan El-Howry: Technology.

In the brand category, Air Peace won the Humanitarian Award while Jambo Jet won the Promising Airline award, African World Airline and Kenyan Airways won Air Connectivity Award while Ethiopian Airlines bagged the award for Corporate Governance among other brand awards.

Kenyan Airport Authority bagged the Airport management award while Amref Africa was awarded the Health and Safety awards; Astral Aerial won the Brand Innovation Award while Amadeus got the Travel Tech Award.

David Aher got theChange maker Influencer Award, Jon Howell bagged the Change  Maker content development award and Young Aviators Club of Africa: Community Building Award.
