“Congratulations to Ibom Air on the arrival of their new Airbus A220-300 aircraft,” says Mrs. Tosan Duncan Odukoya, BASL’s COO.
The statement signed by BASL’s Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, BASL’s emphasises the aircraft’s modernity, stating, “It is well-suited for regional operations.”
“We believe there is a strong market for regional air travel in Nigeria,” Odukoya anticipates, highlighting the Airbus A220-300’s ideal fit.
Odukoya further foresees Ibom Air’s acquisition strengthening its position as a leading regional airline, encouraging others to consider regional operations.
“We anticipate that the success of Ibom Air will encourage other airlines to follow suit,” Odukoya expresses with confidence.
Strategically positioning MMA2 for regional operations, Odukoya envisions it as a single-hub partner, reducing overhead costs and increasing revenue.
Remi Jibodu from BASL commends Ibom Air’s move, moreover stating, “Such is worthy of emulation by other airlines advancing the Nigerian aviation.”
Jibodu highlights BASL’s massive investment in MMA2’s development, eequally stating its efficiency as Nigeria’s most advanced airport terminal.
“What’s more with the recent upgrade of the Common Use Passenger Processing System by RESA,” Jibodu notes, “shows our commitment to technological advancement.”
