Air Peace has expanded Africa’s global reach with another long-haul breakthrough. On 12 June 2025, the airline operated a landmark nonstop flight from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis.

The historic journey, covering approximately ten hours, marked the first direct Nigerian connection to the Eastern Caribbean twin-island nation. This service was arranged to convey Nigerian delegates to a Pan-African business conference and demonstrated Air Peace’s strategic push beyond regional borders.

This latest achievement is Air Peace’s third successful mission to the Caribbean in five years. On 21 December 2020, the airline operated an 11-hour nonstop flight from Lagos to Montego Bay, Jamaica. That milestone made history as the first nonstop air link between Nigeria and Jamaica.

Then, on 5 August 2023, Air Peace flew another Boeing 777 from Lagos to V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua & Barbuda. That journey positioned the airline as the first Nigerian operator to touch down in the twin-island Caribbean state.

Now, with the Abuja–St. Kitts service completed, the airline has formed a triad of firsts across the Caribbean. These efforts demonstrate the depth of its commitment to opening Nigeria to new long-haul opportunities.

The flight relied on one of Air Peace’s Boeing 777 aircraft. The same wide-body jets also sustain the carrier’s daily Lagos–London Gatwick operations, which began on 30 March 2024. That London route marked another pioneering moment for a privately-owned Nigerian airline.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Onyema, has hinted at more global expansions. In April 2024, he announced ongoing aircraft acquisitions to support future services to New York and Houston. These additions will also backstop the Abuja–London connection.

The recent flight to St. Kitts, therefore, signals more than a single success. It affirms Air Peace’s rising profile as a Nigerian airline with international ambitions and capability.

From Montego Bay to Antigua, and now Basseterre, Air Peace is creating sustainable bridges. These routes connect West Africa to Caribbean economies, building people-to-people and commercial ties.

Through innovation and strategic planning, Air Peace is extending Africa’s global reach and showcasing Nigerian aviation potential to the world. Each milestone underlines its evolving status as a serious contender on the global stage.

In sum, the Abuja–St. Kitts nonstop flight embodies a national story of resilience and ambition. With its wings firmly set on global skies, Air Peace continues to redefine boundaries for Nigerian aviation.
