The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika said that the primary purpose of government is to encourage existing business and to provide jobs for the populace as he appealed to the workers of embattled Aero Contractors to disperse till Monday when he promised to return with a feedback after his meeting with the Asset Management Company Of Nigeria (AMCON), the airline management and other critical stakeholders.
The minister stated this in Lagos at the headquarters of Aero airlines where he paid an unscheduled visit and met demonstrating workers who had been on it since Thursday September 1, 2016 when the management of the airline shut down scheduled operations.

Sirika said, “We will look into your demands, and come out with solutions that are mutually beneficial to the staff, management and the Government”.
Speaking further, Sen Hadi said that the APC Government is committed to creating jobs and improving the general well-being of Nigerians as enshrined in its manifestos.
The workers who agreed to the minister’s request to suspend the demonstration and disperse till Monday were taken in by the minister‘s show of solidarity.
Sen Hadi was accompanied by Capt Usman Muktar, Director General of NCAA, Engr Oluwafemi Ogunode, Director of Maintenance and Engineering, FAAN and Dr Ibrahim Idris from the Minister’s office.
The interaction also attracted Mr Benjamin Okewu, President of NUATE, Captain Nogie Megisson, Chairman of Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and other critical stakeholders who came in solidarity with the Honourable minister.
