Director General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Prof. Charles Anosike, urged staff to uphold ethical conduct and anti-corruption measures. He emphasized these at NiMet’s Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy launch on July 16, 2024.

“Ethics, integrity, and accountability are not just ideals but essential pillars for any credible institution,” Prof. Anosike stated.

Moreover, he emphasized how these principles foster trust and enhance NiMet’s effectiveness in national socio-economic development and public safety.

The presence of guests from the ICPC underscored NiMet’s collaborative efforts in fighting corruption. Prof. Anosike also thanked them for their support, reaffirming NiMet’s commitment to ethical standards.

During the presentation of the NiMet Code of Ethics and Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy, Prof. Anosike reiterated NiMet’s unwavering stance against corruption. “These documents represent our firm resolve to uphold ethical conduct and combat corruption at all levels,” he affirmed. The policy outlines mechanisms to prevent, detect, and address bribery and corruption, ensuring transparency and accountability across NiMet’s operations.

In conclusion, Prof. Anosike urged NiMet staff to embrace ethical standards in the Code of Ethics. According to him, ethical conduct and anti-corruption measures play critical roles in credibility and public trust.

Mr. Charles Nwosu, representing the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, commended NiMet for its proactive steps in promoting ethical governance. “NiMet’s commitment to anti-corruption efforts is commendable,” he remarked, noting the agency’s significant role in supporting national integrity initiatives.
