Over the weekend, The Women Rescue and Firefighting Forum (WRFFFORUM) extended financial aid to two families of deceased firefighters.
Led by Mr. Frank Osadebe, the NGO aimed to provide hope and assistance to affected families through education funds and support services.
The families are Fidelis Sylvester and Itasanmi Ben, Mr. Sylvester has two sets of twins.
“We want to be able to help those that are bereaved while in service or she rescues people and their children who are not able continue with school or who are not able to help themselves in life, we try to come to their aid and see what we can do for them. We have been able to help some people, one of whom is disabled, we are also trying to fix that too.”
Their efforts have brought smiles to bereaved families, offering aid to children unable to continue schooling or facing disabilities.
Collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, WRFFFORUM seeks to extend support to more Nigerians in need.
Ms. Isebor Amaka, the forum’s secretary, urged Nigerians to assist a physically challenged daughter of a deceased firefighter.
“We just want Nigerians to help her fix her leg, the earlier we do it, the better. I know we can all do it because you have been doing it and we want to say thank you for the ones you have done already”.
At the recent International Women’s Day event, President Osadebe emphasized the need for gender equality and inclusivity in society.
Advocating for women’s rights, he stressed the importance of education, ending harmful practices, and preventing gender-based violence.
