This partnership ensures passengers avoid the risks of road travel, including insecurity and long hours. Â
Come April 2, 2025, ValueJet will commence Lagos-Jos direct flights, offering passengers more travel options. The airline plans to operate three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with potential expansion to daily services. This move aims to boost connectivity and provide a safer alternative to road travel. Â
Lagos-Jos direct flights mark a significant milestone for ValueJet, which previously operated the Jos-Abuja route. The Plateau State Government, recognizing the need for reliable air travel, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the airline to sustain operations. This partnership ensures passengers avoid the risks of road travel, including insecurity and long hours. Â
At the MoU signing in Lagos, Managing Director Omololu Majekodunmi represented ValueJet, while Commissioner of Transportation Jatau Davou Gyang signed for Plateau State. Gyang emphasized the initiative’s importance in driving economic growth and aligning with Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s development agenda. Â
Majekodunmi highlighted the air pact’s role in securing legal air transport ties between both parties. He noted the governor’s frequent road trips to Abuja, underscoring the need for safer, faster travel. “The Lagos-Jos direct flights offer a 35-minute journey versus a five-hour road trip fraught with risks,” he said. Â
Passengers can now book Lagos-Jos direct flights via www.flyvaluejet.com. This new route not only enhances travel convenience but also supports Plateau State’s economic development. Â
