The Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has recorded 88 per cent On-Time Performance (OTP) in its Hajj flight handling operations. The achievement occurred during the ongoing exercise at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

This impressive SAHCO Hajj flight performance has surpassed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) standard of 85 per cent. SAHCO currently leads ground handling operations across West and Central Africa.

So far, SAHCO has managed eight outbound Hajj flights from Lagos. Of these, seven departed as scheduled, while only one flight experienced a delay. The performance data signals consistent operational discipline across the board.

SAHCO is responsible for handling multiple carriers during this year’s pilgrimage, including Saudi Arabia’s national airline and Cliqjets. Both airlines rely on SAHCO’s capacity to ensure timely departures for pilgrims from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia.

Station Manager Fly Nas, Shadrach Kambai, expressed his satisfaction with the performance and emphasized that teamwork remained the company’s foundation.

“As we take a moment to reflect on our progress so far, I want to say, well done. The success we’ve recorded, especially seeing our On-Time Performance (OTP) exceed the IATA standard, is no accident,” he said.

Kambai added that the milestone reflects more than technical competence. It also highlights collaboration among units within SAHCO. According to him, the operation’s success could not be credited to any individual or department alone.

“It’s a clear testament to your hard work, discipline, and collaboration. This achievement didn’t come from individual brilliance alone; it came from teams stepping up, silos being broken down, and people putting mission before ego,” he remarked.

He further praised SAHCO’s ability to maintain synergy throughout the Hajj operation. As the team approached the final leg of the exercise, Kambai issued a rallying call for continued consistency.

“This is not the time to slow down. It’s time to finish strong, together. Let’s keep our eyes on the goal. Let’s lift one another. Let’s cross the finish line with excellence and unity,” he advised.

The SAHCO Hajj flight performance milestone marks another success in the handling company’s track record. It reinforces SAHCO’s commitment to meeting international operational benchmarks while maintaining quality ground handling services in Nigeria.

Transitioning into the final phases of this year’s Hajj operations, SAHCO continues to uphold the standards of punctuality and efficiency. With this momentum, the company aims to conclude the Hajj season on a high note.

In the broader aviation ecosystem, SAHCO’s achievement contributes to the credibility of Nigerian ground handling services on an international stage. It also signals the potential for continued growth and customer satisfaction within the pilgrimage transport space.
