RETIRED Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede MFR today was received by the Emir and people of Hadejia in Jigawa State to an incredible heroic parade as he arrived his hometown after meritoriously serving the nation in his capacity as Comptroller General.
Babandede who was pulled out of Service in a colourful Pull-Out Parade on September 9th, 2021 by the management of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) was the 16th Comptroller General of Immigration.
A video obtained by NigerianFLIGHTDECK showed the streets were full of well wishers in his Jigawa community as hundreds of youths and elders hit the street to celebrate the waving gentleman while escorting his vehicle to the palace in what can be described only as a ‘human convoy’
The former CGIÂ was practically overwhelmed with emotions by the reception which followed him until he arrived the palace of the Emir
While he directed the affairs of the service, CGI Babandede (rtd) contributions included some bold reforms from pioneering the Visa Reform Policy for the country to delivering on the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) for effective border security, he also was pivotal in the NIS MIDAS architecture linking with the INTERPOL Database for real time online border security and migration management activities.
He also ensured the conception and completion of the NIS Technology Building, a facility that has placed the Service at the centre of the global intelligence community.
