FORMER Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede (Retd) was today hosted by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) and presented a letter of commendation for outstanding performance during his stint as the helmsman of the service.
The retired CGI served for 36 years, five of which he was substantive Comptroller General (2016-2021) bringing innovation to the service.
In a brief ceremony in Abuja, Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole awarded Babandede the letter of congratulations for an exemplary service while in office.
Under Babandede the Nigerian Immigration service ranked 84% and was judged the most efficient Ministry Department and Agencies (MDA) in terms of service delivery timelines and default approvals on government directive Executive Order 001.
He was also in charge of the service, pioneering the visa reform and delivered also the Migration Information and Data Anaylsis System (MIDAS) among other notable achievements
Babandede was pulled out of service as the 16th Comptroller General of the NIS September 13th, 2021
