Qatar Airways Group has announced a leadership change, ending the remarkable 27-year tenure for Mr. Akbar Al Baker. Effective November 5, 2023, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer will succeed Mr. Al Baker as the new Group Chief Executive for Qatar Airways.
During Al Baker’s tenure, Qatar Airways achieved global recognition as a trusted and prominent brand. The airline was known for its unparalleled customer service and adherence to the highest standards. The national carrier of the State of Qatar has proudly secured the prestigious “World’s Best Airline” award seven times. Also the Hamad International Airport, under its management, has been consistently acknowledged as the “World’s Best Airport.”
