Overland Airways ISO 9001 certification marks a defining milestone in the airline’s quality journey. The carrier has officially secured ISO 9001:2015 certification, reinforcing its commitment to global best practices. The achievement strengthens its operational systems, customer service delivery, and continuous improvement framework.

ISO 9001:2015 certification is an internationally recognised quality management standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization. It confirms that an organisation operates structured processes to consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements. Rather than certifying products, it evaluates internal systems, risk controls, and leadership accountability through independent audits.

The Overland Airways ISO 9001 certification followed months of structured documentation, internal reviews, and rigorous external assessments. The certificate was formally presented at the airline’s Head Office Boardroom on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The event underscored the airline’s long-term quality strategy and governance discipline.

In her opening remarks, Chief Administrative Officer and ISO Champion, Mrs Aanu Benson, described the Overland Airways ISO 9001 certification as a reflection of embedded quality culture. She noted that excellence must remain intentional and measurable. Meanwhile, Managing Director of NECA’s Global, Mr Noruwa Edokpolo, led the formal presentation alongside Auditor, Miss Ibukun Ajala.

Also speaking, Consultant, Mr Williams Onwuka of Fine Spectra Consult, commended the airline’s structured approach and leadership commitment. However, he stressed that certification is only the beginning of sustained compliance. Delivering closing remarks, Managing Director, Captain Edward Boyo, described the milestone as strategic and transformative.

“This is a valuable and powerful certification that will guide us going forward. For us, it is more than a principle; it is a way of life,” Captain Edward Boyo stated.

Executive Director, Mrs Aduke Atiba, delivered the vote of thanks and acknowledged staff dedication throughout the process. Therefore, the Overland Airways ISO 9001 certification now strengthens institutional accountability across departments. It also positions the airline competitively within Nigeria’s evolving aviation landscape.

The milestone complements the airline’s 11-year IOSA certification and membership of the International Air Transport Association. In addition, compliance aligns with oversight standards promoted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. Together, these frameworks reinforce safety, reliability, and operational transparency.

As Overland Airways reintroduces Ibadan, Warri, and Minna routes, the Overland Airways ISO 9001 certification enhances passenger confidence. Meanwhile, stakeholders view the development as a signal of maturity and structured growth. The certification ultimately strengthens the airline’s reputation for disciplined management and customer-focused service delivery.
