The agency emerged as the Most Efficient Aviation Agency at the 2025 National Integrity, Leadership, and Development Awards, organized by the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE) in Abuja.
According to CECOE, the award acknowledges NAMA’s dedication to efficiency, ethics, and professionalism, which continue to strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s airspace system.
“NAMA’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability has set a new benchmark in aviation, ensuring efficiency in operations and safety across Nigerian airspace,” the citation stated.
The organizers also praised the agency’s leadership, describing Managing Director and Chief Executive, Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, as a visionary technocrat and reformer in the aviation sector.
They noted that his transformational leadership style has enhanced operational efficiency, improved institutional credibility, and advanced ethical governance in airspace management.
In a related development, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Dr. Abdullahi Musa, was honoured with the Individual Integrity Award at the same ceremony.
According to CECOE, Dr. Musa was recognized for promoting transparency and accountability in NAMA’s engagement with customers, stakeholders, and the public.
His professionalism and ethical communication have strengthened public trust and confidence in the agency’s operations.
“His dedication to openness in public communication has been instrumental in building a transparent and trustworthy image for NAMA,” the citation read.
