Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), has reached a major milestone. The terminal has now provided uninterrupted service for 18 years in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Passengers and visitors at MMA2 were welcomed with live saxophone music, filling the terminal with warmth and celebration. The performance added a joyful rhythm to the anniversary occasion, enhancing the customer experience.

As part of the celebrations, BASL unveiled a bold and modern 3D exterior signage. This new addition now stands as a clear identifier for the terminal. It improves navigation for passengers and enhances visibility in the bustling airport environment.

According to Head, Corporate Communications, BASL, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, the upgrade reinforces the terminal’s place as a standard-setter. “Eighteen years on, MMA2 remains a symbol of innovation and private sector excellence in Nigeria’s aviation sector,” she said. “The new 3D signage not only enhances the visual identity of the terminal but also improves access and orientation for terminal users.”

In line with its tradition of giving back, BASL has chosen to mark the second day of the celebration with a meaningful outreach. The team visited Bethesda Home and School for the Blind, a centre that cares for and educates visually impaired children.

This initiative underscores BASL’s community impact commitment and its continuous efforts to support the less privileged in society. The outreach was marked by heartfelt speeches and a donation presented to the institution.

Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head, Space and Premises, BASL, Kola Bamigboye, addressed the students and staff during the visit. He emphasized that the occasion was not only about corporate achievement but also about human connection.

“It gives me great joy to be here today as we mark our 18th anniversary, a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment,” Bamigboye said. “Today is not just about celebrating our journey as an organization; it is about honoring those whose strength and spirit continue to inspire us.”

He recalled a previous visit by the students to MMA2 that deeply moved the entire BASL team. “During your last visit to our terminal, we were deeply moved by the brilliance, confidence, and talent displayed by the children of Bethesda,” he stated. “Their performance, appearance, and overall conduct left a lasting impression.”

That moment inspired the company to find a way to give back to the institution. “Bethesda Home for the Blind has given hope, care, and education to visually impaired children,” Bamigboye said. “Your impact on these young lives is immeasurable.”

Bamigboye further described the donation as a modest but sincere gesture. “This cheque, though small compared to what you do, represents our heartfelt support and our desire to walk alongside you,” he said. “It is a symbol of our respect and our commitment to doing what we can to contribute to a more inclusive, compassionate society.”

He concluded by thanking the staff of the home for their selfless work. “On behalf of the Board, Management, and entire staff of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, I thank you for allowing us to be part of your story,” Bamigboye said.

Since opening its doors in 2007, MMA2 has raised the standard of airport terminal management in Nigeria. It has continued to offer a secure, organized, and customer-friendly environment to millions of passengers.

The anniversary celebration highlighted BASL’s continued focus on operational excellence, innovation, and strong stakeholder engagement. It also reinforced the company’s deep-rooted community impact commitment as part of its corporate values.
