Landover Aviation Business School (LABS), a renowned training institution in West Africa, has recorded another outstanding feat in aviation education. One of its students, Best Performer in 2025, emerged top of the March 2025 International Air Transport Association (IATA) Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Amadeus Course in Nigeria.

Ms. Shakira Olagunju, a dedicated LABS student, received the IATA Overall Best Performer award for Nigeria. This achievement continues LABS’ tradition of producing top-performing students, marking the 10th time since 2012 that a LABS candidate has clinched this prestigious honour.

Chief Administrative Officer of Landover Company, Mrs. Aanu Benson, while expressing her pride, noted that LABS remains committed to cultivating high-calibre aviation professionals.

“We are ecstatic to see our student’s hard work and dedication pay off. This excellent result is a testament to our team’s dedication to nurturing talent and our commitment to excellence in aviation training,” she said.

She further emphasized the significance of the victory, highlighting the consistency in LABS’ high-performance culture.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our star student Ms. Shakira Olagunju. Her achievement is a shining example of what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication, and we are extremely proud of her achievement,” Mrs. Benson added.

This latest award not only reinforces LABS’ leadership in aviation education but also strengthens its profile across the region. Since 2002, the institution has trained thousands of students, many of whom now serve in key positions in Nigeria and West Africa’s aviation industry.

Training and Operations Manager at LABS, Mr. Julian Chibuzor, lauded the recognition as another milestone in the institution’s proud history.

“This achievement adds another brilliant chapter to the already impressive legacy of LABS. Since its inception in 2002, LABS has consistently demonstrated its commitment to producing top tier aviation professionals and this remarkable streak underscores the unwavering quality of education offered by LABS,” he stated.

Sharing her experience, Ms. Olagunju credited the school and her support system for her success.

“I am truly honoured to have been able to set a high standard for future students. I am grateful to my God, my family and LABS for the achievement of this feat. Having previously completed my Basic Airfares and Ticketing Course at LABS in 2012, I knew it was ideal for me to return to LABS for the IATA Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Amadeus Course. My success today is attributed to the comprehensive training and support provided by my instructors at LABS during and after the training period,” she said.

Indeed, LABS continues to champion aviation excellence by providing world-class training that meets international standards. Its curriculum and faculty ensure that students are well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the global aviation sector.

By producing the Best Performer in 2025, LABS once again reaffirms its position as a powerhouse for aviation talent development in Nigeria and beyond. As the industry evolves, institutions like LABS play a vital role in building a skilled and competitive workforce prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
