Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has unveiled strategic measures to improve Nigerian airport services. Special Airport Marshals, comprising journalists, NGO representatives, and state officials, will monitor airport operations through unscheduled visits. These public-spirited individuals will assess staff conduct, general hygiene, and operational efficiency, reporting directly to the minister. “This initiative allows us to bypass conventional reporting and ensure transparent, independent oversight of airport operations,” Keyamo stated. Moreover, by holding airport managers accountable for maintenance funds, the ministry seeks to guarantee quality service delivery and clean environments for passengers.
To reinforce these efforts, the minister will personally conduct monthly inspections alongside FAAN executives and legislative aviation committee members.
