Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has unveiled strategic measures to improve Nigerian airport services. Aimed at addressing the expectations of the travelling public, these initiatives focus on enhancing service delivery and maintaining environmental cleanliness at airports nationwide. Special Airport Marshals, comprising journalists, NGO representatives, and state officials, will monitor airport operations through unscheduled visits. These public-spirited individuals will assess staff conduct, general hygiene, and operational efficiency, reporting directly to the minister. “This initiative allows us to bypass conventional reporting and ensure transparent, independent oversight of airport operations,” Keyamo stated. Moreover, by holding airport managers accountable for maintenance funds, the ministry seeks to guarantee quality service delivery and clean environments for passengers.

To reinforce these efforts, the minister will personally conduct monthly inspections alongside FAAN executives and legislative aviation committee members. During these visits, Keyamo will participate in airport operations, engage staff directly, and address their concerns.
