United Nigeria Airlines has achieved a significant milestone by swiftly securing its IATA membership certificate. Dr. Samson Fatokun, IATA’s Regional Manager, commended the airline’s remarkable speed, noting its exceptional progress in the global aviation industry. He emphasized, “I can’t remember an airline in the region that got here so fast; some took decades.” Fatokun expressed confidence that United Nigeria’s IATA membership would bring support to the airline, stating, “You have met the requirements, safety. You have done well.”

In response, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, UNA Chairman, credited the success to divine intervention and the dedicated management team.

Proud of the team’s efficiency, Okonkwo cited staging a flight within 12 hours of AOC, as UNA’s commitment to excellence. This rapid operational pace showcases the airline’s commitment to excellence.

The Embraer team, led by Regional Vice President Sales Francisco Moraes, extended congratulations and pledged continuous support. Moraes acknowledged UNA’s diligence in operations, assuring, “You can keep counting on our support; we will back you.” This endorsement from a key aircraft manufacturer further solidifies United Nigeria Airlines’ position in the industry.

The achievement reflects UNA’s drive to meet global practices, and being one of the few within the continent to attain IATA membership is commendable. United Nigeria Airlines, under the leadership of Professor Okonkwo, stands as a testament to efficiency, safety, and diligence in the aviation sector, and the future looks promising with ongoing support from industry stakeholders.
