FOLLOWING directives of the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, Ogun state Comptroller, Doris Braimah has charged officers at the Idiroko border to be vigilant and thorough in checking migrants at the entry points.
Speaking during an on the spot assessment on situation on ground at the border in Idiroko border post and the readiness of the service Braimah charged the officers and other sister agencies around the border post to ensure they do their utmost to protect the country.

The comptroller who went round the post also presented protective materials including hand gloves, facemasks and sanitizer as part of efforts to boost the officers’ preventive health status.
” The CG said we should go round, especially those in is in states with borders and educate officers on the need for alertness and conciousness. So we need to create awareness for the protection of each entry and exit points so the officers know what to watch out for.
On the protection of those charged with intercepting suspected cases of the Corona Virus she said:
” For us immigration officers, of course we have measures being put in place officers are being trained which is vital to know what to look out for in terms of symptoms at this point.
” There are preventive measures as earlier I was speaking with the Port Health officials telling them that one negligence can affect millions of Nigerians so we have to be alert. We need to be alert to ensure there are no gaps,” she said.
