West Africa’s leading airline, Air Peace, has announced the resumption of its Caribbean service with monthly direct flights from Lagos to Barbados via Antigua. The development restores a critical air link between West Africa and the Caribbean region. Therefore, passengers can now enjoy seamless travel for business, leisure, and diaspora connections.

Caribbean Schedule

The flights, effective May 24, 2026, will be the only direct service from West and Central Africa to the islands of Barbados via Antigua. This eliminates the need for multiple stopovers through Europe or North America. Meanwhile, it provides a faster and more convenient option for travellers across the region.

Passengers can connect from various African cities into Lagos before continuing to the tropical islands. The outbound schedule departs Lagos at 06:00, arriving Antigua at 15:00, and continues at 16:30 to reach Barbados at 17:50. However, the return journey departs Barbados at 13:00, arrives Antigua at 14:20, and leaves at 15:50 to land in Lagos at 01:50 the next day.

In addition, the structured timing ensures smooth connections and reduced transit stress. Travellers benefit from predictable schedules, making the Caribbean route more accessible than before.

This service underscores Air Peace’s commitment to bridging continents. It also highlights efforts to foster stronger economic, cultural, and tourism ties between Nigeria and the Caribbean region. Meanwhile, the route is expected to stimulate passenger traffic and encourage bilateral engagement.

Industry observers note that direct connectivity often drives trade and tourism growth. According to the International Air Transport Association, improved air links significantly enhance market expansion. Therefore, the resumed service could unlock new opportunities for both regions.

Moreover, diaspora travellers stand to benefit greatly. Many passengers with ancestral ties to the Caribbean can now access a more direct and symbolic route. In addition, cultural exchanges in entertainment, education, and business are likely to increase.

Tickets for the Lagos–Antigua–Barbados Caribbean route are now available across all Air Peace booking channels and travel agencies. Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure preferred travel dates. However, travellers should also confirm visa requirements for Antigua and Barbados before departure.
