Engineer Igwe Launches Determined Bid for NAAPE Presidency

Engr. Francis Igwe has formally declared his candidacy for the office of National President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE). Pilots and Engineers
Igwe, the current NAAPE Public Relations Officer is promising to consolidate on past gains. He will reposition the union for modern challenges. The NAAPE must become more relevant for its members.

A Critical Bid for a Unified NAAPE

Igwe pledges to defend workers’ rights. He will not allow employers to trample on labor dignity. He will work with all members in the industry. International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations 
This includes airlines and Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs). His focus is on creating a unified front. It will stand against injustice in the industry.
The presidential hopeful prioritizes improved welfare. He wants to improve wages for all union members. Transparent negotiations will happen on Conditions of Service.
Periodic reviews are part of his plan. These reviews will reflect current economic realities. This ensures members can earn a dignified living.
A key part of his manifesto is expansion. He will bring non-unionized pilots and engineers under the NAAPE umbrella.
He will work to remove their fears. He will resolve grey areas that prevent unionization. Igwe will also strengthen solidarity across all branches.
He will personally visit all branches. This will happen in his first twelve months. He aims to listen directly to member concerns.

Leadership programs will also be a priority. He will seek international certifications. Technical exposures will be promoted.
Secretariat staff will also receive annual training. This will happen both locally and internationally. They will represent the union.
This ensures the secretariat is a competent body. It will also improve service delivery for all members of the association.
Igwe promises an open-door policy. He wants his leadership to be fully accountable. Every fund and resource will be open to scrutiny.
Decisions will be made with wide consultation. He will not allow personal interest to override. He pledged to devote his time and energy.
Building on the legacy of Comrade Engr. Abednego Galadima is a key goal. Galadima transformed the union. NAAPE is now a proud landlord in Lagos.
Igwe pledges to build on this foundation. He will fill the shoes of the outgoing president. His goal is to consolidate this legacy. He will aim for greater achievements for everyone.
He called for unity among members. The union’s power is collective. It is not in the size of its offices. He promised to listen, consult, and unite.
He will lead with integrity. Together, they will secure a stronger future. This future includes better pay and safer workplaces for all.
Furthermore, he pledged to work with a competent team. He is human and not infallible. He will listen to advice. His commitment is unshakable.
