Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace Limited, has taken delivery of its third Embraer 190 AR aircraft, reinforcing operational capacity and strengthening connectivity ahead of the busy festive travel season. The arrival of the Embraer 190 AR reflects the airline’s deliberate fleet expansion strategy, aimed at meeting rising passenger demand while maintaining schedule reliability across domestic and regional routes. By adding another Embraer 190 AR to its growing fleet, Air Peace continues to position itself for improved frequency and operational resilience during peak travel periods.
The state-of-the-art Embraer 190 AR, bearing registration mark 5N-CFM, touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at exactly 3:13 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Its arrival marks another milestone in the airline’s fast-paced fleet modernisation programme, which has seen consistent aircraft induction within a short timeframe. Meanwhile, the Embraer 190 AR strengthens Air Peace’s readiness to deploy efficient aircraft that align with both operational needs and passenger expectations.
Configured to seat ninety-nine passengers, the Embraer 190 AR features eleven Business Class seats and eighty-eight Economy Class seats, delivering a balanced combination of comfort and capacity. The airline’s deployment of the Embraer 190 AR reflects a strategy centred on right-sized aircraft that can efficiently serve high-demand routes without compromising service quality. Therefore, the aircraft is expected to support expanded schedules and improved reliability throughout the festive period and beyond.
Designed with performance and sustainability in mind, the Embraer 190 AR is equipped with fuel-efficient engines that deliver reduced carbon emissions and improved operating economics. Inside the cabin, the Embraer 190 AR offers a refined passenger experience, with a one-two seating layout in Business Class that enhances privacy and comfort, while the two-two Economy Class configuration eliminates middle seats entirely. In addition, passengers benefit from generous legroom, quieter cabin acoustics and in-seat power options that support productivity and convenience throughout the journey.
Speaking on the development, Air Peace Spokesperson, Mr Osifo-Whiskey Efe, described the arrival of the Embraer 190 AR as both timely and strategic for the airline’s operations. He explained that the aircraft aligns closely with Air Peace’s objective of easing travel pressures across its network while maintaining dependable service standards.
“We are delighted to welcome this advanced aircraft into our ever-expanding fleet. The Embraer 190 AR is a modern, efficient and passenger-friendly aircraft that supports our goal of delivering seamless connectivity across Nigeria, Africa and beyond,” Efe said.
He further noted that the Embraer 190 AR will play a critical role in supporting additional flight frequencies on key domestic and regional routes during the festive season. Consequently, passengers can expect improved schedule reliability, enhanced connectivity and reduced congestion on high-traffic corridors, particularly as travel demand peaks nationwide.
For the travelling public, the arrival of the Embraer 190 AR translates into increased seat availability, greater flexibility and an improved overall travel experience. This is especially significant during a period marked by family reunions, business engagements and heightened tourism activity across the country. Moreover, the aircraft reflects Air Peace’s broader commitment to deploying modern equipment that efficiently serves both dense and underserved routes without compromising passenger comfort.
With a steadily expanding and diversified fleet, Air Peace continues to distinguish itself as Nigeria’s most aggressively growing airline. The induction of a third Embraer 190 AR within five months highlights the carrier’s sustained investment in fleet renewal, capacity growth and route development. As the festive season unfolds, Air Peace remains well positioned to deliver reliable air travel, supported by modern aircraft, strategic planning and a strong focus on passenger satisfaction.
