The airline also denied claims of a “risky manoeuvre” by its pilot. “Such suggestions are outright fabrications and reckless misrepresentations,” Dr. Ndiulo said.
Air Peace Limited has dismissed recent online reports as false and misleading. The airline described the claims as a deliberate attempt to tarnish its reputation and reaffirmed its commitment to safety and professionalism.
In a statement signed by Head of Corporate Communications, Air Peace Limited, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, the airline refuted allegations about its Chairman/CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema. Reports claimed Dr. Onyema was stranded at Ekiti State Agro Allied International Cargo Airport due to navigational issues.
Air Peace clarified that poor weather conditions prevented the aircraft from landing. “Heavy rain forced the flight to reroute to Lagos, a routine safety measure,” the airline stated. It emphasized its commitment to safety and operational excellence, adding, “At no point did any Air Peace flight engage in unsafe operations.”
The airline also denied claims of a “risky manoeuvre” by its pilot. “Such suggestions are outright fabrications and reckless misrepresentations,” Dr. Ndiulo said. He reiterated that Air Peace adheres to the highest international aviation safety standards.
Dr. Ndiulo expressed disappointment over the misleading narrative. “We provided accurate details, but they were ignored for sensationalism,” he stated. He emphasized that such irresponsible journalism harms the reputation of Nigeria’s leading airline.
“At Air Peace, safety is not just a priority but a fundamental precondition for all our activities,” Dr. Ndiulo added. The airline urged the public to disregard the false reports and reaffirmed its commitment to safety and reliable operations.
Air Peace called for responsible journalism, stressing the importance of verifying facts before publication. “We remain dedicated to transparency and accuracy in all our communications,” Dr. Ndiulo concluded.
