Air Peace's Embraer 190 aircraft, with registration number 5N-CEF
Air Peace Limited has reinforced its operational strength through the acquisition of its first Embraer 190 aircraft, marking another Air Peace fleet expansion milestone. The aircraft, with registration number 5N-CEF, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at exactly 19:38 on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
The Embraer 190 is the latest addition to Nigeria’s leading airline, which already operates a fleet of more than 30 aircraft. The carrier aims to strengthen its domestic and regional operations by introducing the right aircraft to match demand across various routes.
Spokesperson for the airline, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, revealed that the new aircraft seats 118 passengers. It is the first of its kind in the airline’s growing portfolio and demonstrates the airline’s consistent investment in fleet modernisation.
“Another Embraer 190 aircraft is scheduled to arrive by next month,” Efe disclosed while speaking with journalists in Lagos. “This acquisition forms part of our deliberate expansion strategy aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing connectivity.”
He explained that the newly inducted aircraft brings enhanced efficiency, advanced eco-friendly features, and superior passenger comfort. “Its 2-2 seating layout offers a spacious cabin experience, making it ideal for several of our short to medium-haul operations,” he said.
Efe further stated that the Embraer 190 offers the right capacity for underserved markets. He added that it enables the airline to connect more Nigerian cities and West African destinations seamlessly.
This Air Peace fleet expansion also supports the airline’s long-standing commitment to reduce air travel challenges in Nigeria. Efe maintained that the airline remains focused on acquiring aircraft tailored to its route structure and operational needs.
As of May 2025, Air Peace had recorded an impressive 85% average on-time performance across its domestic network. This performance underscores the airline’s continued efforts to deliver reliable and efficient service to its customers.
Air Peace has established itself as a dominant force in West Africa’s aviation space. With growing passenger numbers and evolving route dynamics, the carrier has been proactive in fleet renewal and route development.
The airline is optimistic about further growth in the third quarter of the year. Plans are underway to open more domestic routes, extend regional presence, and introduce international destinations.
In addition, the management reaffirmed its intention to keep acquiring modern aircraft to meet increasing demand. This includes aircraft types that align with the airline’s goals of sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Air Peace continues to chart an ambitious path of transformation. The arrival of the Embraer 190 signals renewed commitment to regional aviation development and operational excellence.
