A new agreement positions Acron Aviation at the centre of pilot training for Arik Air. The multi-year extension confirms Acron Aviation as the exclusive provider of B737NG full flight simulator training through 2029. Therefore, the deal reinforces continuity in training delivery while aligning with global aviation standards.
Under the agreement, Acron Aviation will handle all B737NG full flight simulator requirements for Arik Air. Training will be delivered across its global network, including the London Training Centre. Meanwhile, this structure ensures consistency, efficiency, and access to advanced simulation technology for Nigerian flight crews.
Acron Aviation Executive
Vice President and General Manager Airline Training at Acron Aviation, Patrick Davis, described the extension as a strong endorsement. He noted that exclusivity reflects Arik Air’s confidence in the company’s training systems, facilities, and personnel. In addition, Davis emphasised the importance of maintaining operational safety through high-quality simulator programmes.
The partnership supports Arik Air’s operational stability as Nigeria’s largest commercial airline. The carrier continues to play a critical role in West and Central African connectivity. Therefore, reliable training pipelines remain essential for sustaining safe and efficient flight operations across its domestic and regional network.
Consistent simulator training also aligns with global benchmarks set by organisations such as International Civil Aviation Organization and International Air Transport Association. These frameworks prioritise recurrent training and standardisation. As a result, partnerships like this strengthen compliance while enhancing crew performance and safety outcomes.
Meanwhile, Acron Aviation continues to expand its global training footprint. The company has invested in modern simulators and instructor expertise to meet growing airline demand. This approach enables scalable solutions while supporting long-term airline partnerships across multiple regions.
For Arik Air, the extension delivers operational continuity and scheduling efficiency. It also reduces variability in training quality by centralising delivery through a single provider. In addition, access to experienced instructors ensures that crews maintain proficiency in both normal and non-normal procedures.
The agreement reflects a broader trend within aviation, where airlines seek dependable training partners amid rising fleet utilisation. Therefore, long-term contracts provide stability in a sector driven by safety, regulation, and operational precision.
