The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency and Department of State Services have joined forces to combat recent Airspace violations nationwide.
Both agencies stressed strict compliance with designated no-fly zones and International Civil Aviation Organization guidelines, specifically outlined in Section 4444 of the Procedures for Air Navigation Services – Air Traffic Management (PANS-ATM).
The discussion primarily centered on recent encroachments of No-Fly Zones, leading to airspace violations especially in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
NAMA’s Managing Director emphasized educating airlines and pilots about established protocols and maintaining stringent security measures.
Engr. Farouk underscored the necessity of adhering to established protocols, listening to air traffic controllers, and respecting security measures.
“Ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of air travel within our airspace is our primary mission,” said Engr. Farouk, stressing the importance of adherence to established protocols and security measures.
DSS Director of Security Enforcement, Steve Ojelade, emphasized the non-negotiable nature of no-fly zones, warning of severe consequences for Airspace violations, including potential military intervention.
