DESPITE speculations of loss of businesses and the negative impact of the economic recession, the Nigerian Handling Company (nacho aviance) has said that the company is still holding its own as it still controls 90% of the https://nigerianflightdeck.com/2016/11/we-are-still-doing-good-business-despite-recession-nahco-boss/international handling market and 80% of the domestic market.

Managing Director of the company, Mr. Norbert Bielderman made this known this afternoon at the handling company’s headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos where he further explained that the company is doing well because of strict cost control measures as well as boosting additional income.
Bielderman who reacted to rumors that the company was losing business stated that the impression was incorrect as the airline has gained more business especially since he and his management team stepped onboard to steer the organization’s ship.img_20161109_122536
He explained that one of the airlines which left the company of recent did so because it had a global GSSA Agreement with DHL which means the airline was being handled globally by DHL that evidently uses the SAHCOL warehouse.
He said, “As regards ET, we did not lose ET Cargo to the competition. The genesis of what is called ‘loss’ in this instance should be well understood. ET has a global GSSA agreement with DHL meaning that all cargoes on ET are handled by DHL on behalf of ET Cargoes.”
“Before now however, you might be aware that due to very low business volume, a competitor rented out considerable portion of its under-utilized warehouse to DHL Cargo to warehouse its (DHL) shipments.
“DHL has at least 60% on these cargoes and therefore upon the arrival of ET aircraft, the company moves the shipment into the rented section of the SAHCOL warehouse. This is what is wrongly viewed as a loss by Nahco to that competitor. It is not.”
According to the Nahco boss who reeled out statistical achievement to counteract whatever ‘loss’ the handling company was facing stated that apart from controlling 90% and 80% of the international and domestic markets respectively said:
“This year alone we have won Meridiana, Mid African Airlines, RwandAir on the Abuja-Kigali route; Mainstream Aviation, Cronos and all our standard ground handling contracts are perfect t and in full force.”
According to him, despite the economic situation the company still ensures salaries and allowances are paid as at when due and still continues performance based payment when
On the recent arrest of NAHCO staff by the NDLEA, the company management said that it is cooperating fully with the NDLEA
“NAHCO is cooperating fully with the NDLEA concerning the drug issues involving some NAHCO staff in Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Company has a zero tolerance for all vices and criminal tendencies and would not spare anyone found wanting in that regard. In this wise, our recruitment process and background checks on new employees are constantly being reviewed.”

The management however said that the illegalities transpire due to connivance from agencies meant to check this dastardly trend.

“it is important for us to recognize that there is no way drugs will enter the airport without the connivance of Government agencies at the airport. The screening process is such that for any shipment to be exported, the Customs, the NDLEA, the FAAN Security, etc. must have screened it.Even the Airline’s Security Staff would also have conducted necessary checks.”

“So, for there to be a breach of security that would have resulted in loading drugs into a plane, then one or two of the agencies must have been involved. To single out NAHCO staff for worldwide mention therefore, is tantamount to looking for a soft target..
The Company has a zero tolerance for all vices and criminal tendencies and would not spare anyone found wanting in that regard. In this wise, our recruitment process and background checks on new employees are constantly being reviewed.”
