Preparations are underway for the debut of the WFLA Summit, slated for March 28-29, 2024, at Lagos’ Radisson Blu Hotel Ikeja. This landmark event, themed “Intra-Africa Travel and Tourism Ecosystem: Maximizing Opportunities for Sustainable Growth and Development,” promises two days of impactful discussions and initiatives.

The summit’s agenda encompasses a diverse range of activities, including a full-day conference featuring high-level panel sessions. Day one will welcome distinguished guests, including representatives from High Commissions, Diplomatic Missions, and industry luminaries spanning trade, aviation, hospitality, finance, and technology sectors.

Day two shifts focus to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups through specialized training on climate adaptability and resilience in tourism. This initiative aims to equip young entrepreneurs with vital skills and insights, offering opportunities for seed funding to fuel business expansion.

A highlight of the summit will be the official launch of Afri-Explorer©️ magazine, a premier publication spotlighting Africa’s rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and investment prospects. Additionally, attendees can look forward to the Green Classics sustainability charity golf tournament, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The WFLA Summit marks the inaugural event in a series set to traverse multiple African countries and regions. The overarching goal is to address trade barriers, visa accessibility, cross-border payments, and air connectivity through strategic advocacy efforts.

Central to WFLA’s mission is bolstering initiatives like the Single Africa Air Transport Market (SAATM) and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). As the organization continues to spearhead efforts to promote intra-Africa travel and economic integration, the summit serves as a pivotal step towards realizing these aspirations.
