UBA Elevates Presence at 2024 ECOWAS Mining Forum; Elumelu to Deliver Keynote Address

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc takes the spotlight as the official sponsor of the 4th ECOWAS Mining and Petroleum Forum (ECOMOF 2024) in Cotonou, Benin. Scheduled from February 22 to February 24, 2024, at the Palais des Congrès, the event is set to gather key players and stakeholders in the mining and petroleum sectors of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)

As Africa’s Global Bank, UBA’s extensive presence in 20 African countries positions it as the preferred partner for the event, reflecting the bank’s commitment to regional economic development. UBA Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu, will deliver the keynote address, focusing on strategies for value creation in West Africa’s geo-extractive resources and technologies.

Under the esteemed leadership of Presidents Patrice Talon and Mr. Bola Tinubu, UBA Group aims to reaffirm its commitment to supporting economic and social development across Africa. The forum’s theme emphasizes the transformation of mining and oil sectors into economic pillars through investor-friendly policies.

Transnational Corporation Group (Transcorp Plc), with strategic investments in various sectors, will also actively participate in the forum. Key officials from UBA Group and Transcorp Plc, including Abiola Bawuah, Ebele Ogbue, and Owen Omogiafo, will engage in discussions and panels during the event.

Expected to draw over 2,000 participants, ECOMOF 2024 offers a significant platform for collaborative dialogue and partnership building.
