NIGERIAN Aviation Handling Company Plc (nahco aviance) and the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) have pledged to work together for the growth of the industry in general and NAHCO in particular.
This commitment was made Tuesday, March 14, when the National President of ATSSSAN, Barrister Ilitrus Ahmadu paid a courtesy visit to the Head Office of the foremost ground handling Company in Lagos.
Speaking at the occasion, the MD/CEO of nahco aviance, Mr. Norbert Bielderman, said the Company is in support of positive unionism and was looking forward to a situation where management and the unions would continually work together to engender industrial harmony and growth of the Company.
Bielderman who had with him other members of the Executive Management of the Company said that he reckoned that at this time of economic recession when the industry is going through a tough time, ATSSSAN leadership would be required to make a series of intervention for the benefit of the industry and the operators. He urged that such interventions should be made in utmost good faith.
He said he had always admired the professionalism of Barrister Ahmadu adding that his election into the office of the President of the Association is a clear testimony of the great trust reposed in him by ATSSSAN members.
“You deserve your present election. You’ve always done an excellent job,” Bielderman stated.
The Head, Corporate Services, nahco aviance, Mr. Ahmed Bashir Gulma, added that NAHCO would dialogue more with the Union under the leadership of new president and asked for ATSSSAN’s cooperation.
In his response, Ilitrus Ahmadu said both parties have to ensure that there is sustained industrial harmony.
He said: “We are all working together to create value for the Company. We’ve had good negotiations on this table before.”
He restated that ATSSSAN would not do anything that would harm the good working relations between the two while urging the management to keep the line of communications open.
With the MD/CEO to receive the ATSSSAN president and his team were the ED, Mrs. Folashade Ode; Head of Corporate Services, Ahmed Bashir Gulma and the Chief Financial Officer, Bamidele Adelaja. Others are Head of Internal Audit, Anthony Iyayi; Head of HR, Wole Eniafe and Head of Legal Services, Mrs Uluoma Okoro.
With the ATSSSAN president during the visit were the 1st Deputy President, Mrs. Rindams; 2nd Deputy President, Comrade Jaja; National Auditor, Mrs Hilda Anyansi and 2nd Trustee, Comrade Tijani Ademola.
Others are Financial Secretary, Comrade Onoja; Women Leader, Comrade Oge Okpanya; Deputy General Secretary, Barr Frances Akinjole; Acting Secretary, Admin/Accounts, Comrade Rotimi; and the 2nd Vice President, Comrade Koya Akinbogun.
