FOLLOWING the threat posed on the aviation industry by cyber criminals, the Lagos State chapter of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) will hold a symposium to illuminate the threat and proffer solutions on how to deal with them should they arise.
The body made this known as it announced its plans to host its Biennial General Meeting and elections alongside its annual symposium in Lagos.
In an official statement issued yesterday, the body stated that the event will hold on the 28th March, 2019 at the Welcome Centre Hotels, along the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) road, Lagos with the theme: “Cyber Threat In Aviation Industry: The Role of ATSEPS”.
The statement further stated that “We, the Lagos chapter of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) will be hosting our “Biennial General Meeting/Elections and also hold our Annual Symposium alongside”.
In the release jointly signed by the chapter Chairman, Engr Anthony Nwose and secretary, Sonowo Ayodele, the professional body affirmed “The National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) is an affiliate of the International Federations of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA) whose members have the responsibility of provision, installation, maintenance and calibration of Communications, Navigational aids, Surveillance (CNS) and Power Systems. They hitherto play a pivotal role in the aviation safety chain”
To do justice to the topic, according to NAAE is a Guest Speaker in the person of Engr Ifeanyi Ogochukwu who is a renowned aviation professional and an Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) expert.
“We therefore, wish to invite the aviation community to this event which is segmented into: The workshop or symposium; Biennial General Meeting and Election of new officers of the NAAE chapter”
“We believe that the event will be highly educative given the caliber of the Guest Speaker who have been carefully chosen to give more impetus to all important assignment of this group of aviation professionals”, the association added.
