The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 gears up for PES/eFootball Gaming Guinness World Record attempt by six Nigerian gamers from December 22-24, 2023.
The Kolade Daniel-led team aims to break the record, showcase eSports opportunities and bridge the gaming and football passion gap.
Other team members are Fifehanmi Oladimeji, Emmanuel Awe, David Igbeneghu, Ifeanyi Iwelumo, and Kingsley Banney.
Kolade, CEO of Footy Hub Media, emphasizes the evolution of gaming from a hobby to a global career: “We’re merging our love for football and our favorite football video game pastime in our record attempt.”
Oladimeji challenges stereotypes, stating, “That narrative is slowly coming to an end, and this attempt will also show the possibilities that exist for Nigerian gamers.”
The attempt, paying tribute to grassroots footballers, also builds a vibrant football fan community through NaijaFootballTalk’s YouTube presence and social media following.
“PesUltimateChallenge,” sponsored by Vento Furniture and UPoker, with MMA2 as the venue sponsor, promotes the intersection of gaming, football, and community building.
Gamr is the official gaming sponsor, and 8Medicals as the official medical partner. Other major sponsors include Dana Air, Itel Mobile, Naija Football Talk, Joorlan’s Kitchen, Tecno Mobile, FoodMatters, YabaLeftOnline Media, and HouseOfMybss.
