As airlifting of Hajj pilgrims begin on Monday, Nigeria’s flag carrier, Med-view Airline has taken delivery of another airplane,  a Boeing 777-200‎ one week after the carrier acquired the 747 aircraft which it deployed on its Lagos-London Gatwick.

This is just as the airline stated that immediately after Hajj, it will begin services to Dubai and expand to Freetown and Monrovia via Accra.

Speaking today when the airplane landed in at the Lagos airport at about 5.30pm, Executive Director (Technical) for Medview Airlines, Alhaji Lookman Animashaun said the Triple 7 airplane that arrived from Lisbon, Portugal would be used for airlift of pilgrims for the 2016 Hajj exercise which begins on Monday.

According to him, Med-view would be airlifting no fewer than 770 pilgrim on Monday to start its Hajj operations using both the newly acquired Boeing 777 and its 747 aircraft to execute the airlift.

Medview is one of the carriers approved by the Federal Government for this year’s Hajj operations and the carrier has consistently done so for the past ten years.

The airline chief disclosed that passengers of Edo and Osun would be airlifted on Tuesday.

His words, “Med-view is known for its pro-activeness for Hajj operations 2016. We plan to use the airplane for Dubai after Hajj.The B747 we use for Gatwick will be here with us for two years.”

On its route expansion programme, Animashaun stated that aside London and Jeddah operation, adding that immediately after Hajj, they will begin service to Dubai as it expands to Freetown and Monrovia via Accra.

“We are expanding beyond Accra to Sierra Leone and Monrovia”.

He assured that the 10, 000 pilgrims given to the airline would received good service and will not experience difficulties as all logistics have been taken care of.

“We will fulfill all our promises to offer quality services and our experience in doing this in the past 10 years will count for us.”
