On October 1, 2024, the International Aviation College, Ilorin, marked a milestone by graduating nine Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) students and one Private Pilot License (PPL) student. Among the International Aviation College Ilorin graduates were Abdullahi Amir, Kuteyi Olakanmi, Mogaji Biliaminu, and Jubril Sani Mohammed. These students were decorated by the Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Olufunke Arinde, on behalf of the state government. She lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for his unwavering support of the collegeās progress.
Dr. Arinde, in her speech, stressed the need to maintain the college’s forward trajectory to benefit Kwara State. Her commendation extended to the Governing Council and the management team, who have worked tirelessly to improve the institution. Additionally, she encouraged the graduating pilots to represent the college with integrity and professionalism in their future careers. The Registrar, Mr. Mohammed Jimada Jibril, also expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Commissioner for their contributions to the collegeās ongoing success.
Highlighting the governorās interventions, Mr. Jibril mentioned the procurement of a new flight simulator and foreign training for aviation personnel. Furthermore, he promised that the management would continue to justify the trust placed in them by the government. The Registrar also advised the graduates to consistently adhere to professional ethics as they embark on their aviation careers. In addition, supporting these sentiments, the collegeās Bursar, Mr. Sanni Shamsudeen, thanked Governor AbdulRasaq and Dr. Arinde for their steadfast support. He further reiterated the institutionās unwavering goal to remain a center of excellence in aviation training and development.
During the final evaluations, Chief Flying Instructor from the Nigerian Aviation College, Captain Barau Mohammed, praised the graduatesā high standards. He confidently stated that the *International Aviation College Ilorin graduates* could compete globally, having met international benchmarks in their training.Ā
