The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
During a visit by ICAN’s 59th President, Dr. Innocent Okwuossa, and his team to FAAN headquarters at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, Kuku expressed eagerness to deepen ties with ICAN.
Kuku commended the performance of over 100 agency accountants, highlighting their commitment, accuracy, transparency and integrity.
Kuku stated, “We seek to strengthen collaboration between FAAN and ICAN.”
ICAN plays a vital role in training and retraining accountants nationwide to uphold professional standards, Kuku highlighted.
Kuku commended ICAN’s efforts in maintaining professional competence among members.
She further emphasised that FAAN is dedicated to enhancing airport services to international standards, ensuring safety and efficiency in passenger and cargo transport.
“We must conduct activities with utmost transparency, accountability, and integrity,” she asserted.
Okwuossa thanked Kuku for the warm reception and expressed ICAN’s interest in capacity-building partnerships with FAAN.
He acknowledged Kuku’s leadership role and her inspiration to women nationwide.
ICAN also recognizes FAAN’s impact on aviation infrastructure and safety.
Okwuossa urged FAAN to support member training, including sponsorship for upcoming conferences.
He appealed to FAAN to establish an ICAN Chapter stressing that it will further enhanced collaboration.
