IT would seem that some Directors and General Managers eased the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) may be made to refund certain cash to government coffers if information reaching this platform is anything to go by.

This is just as one Abubakar Rafindadi is soon to arrive the airports managers as Director, Commercial having collected his employment letter like Mrs Nike Aboderin who is coming into the same organization as Director, Finance.

Nigerianflightdeck.com learnt that Rafindadi might be a  first cousin to Minister of State (Aviation), Senator Hadi Sirika and that the arrival of these directors is to drive the planned concession proposed by government.

There is also an air of uneasiness in FAAN given plans by the Federal Government to make certain directors and general managers refund some monies, according to our source, the latest tsunami did not happen overnight as many underground investigations have taken place.

Recall that last week, a major shake up in FAAN saw no fewer than 22 Directors and General Managers affected.

Already, government has started replacing the directors and there are also plans to replace removed General Managers but in their stead for the time being, the most senior official is acting.

However, stakeholders are also apprehensive about this government making the same mistake as the last and bringing people from outside the authority instead of allowing the rules of the civil service take predominance.

A FAAN worker who spoke with our platform under the conditions of anonymity, “It is because of this constant dumping of people in FAAN that has caused the rot in the agency. People who are supposed to rise are not rising while government bring in cronies to stunt their growth, when they complain there is rot in the agency, they should know they are 75% cause.”

Federal government following recommendations by the Presidential Committee chaired by the Head of Service, Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, is restricting the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) with demotion, sack or redeployment of certain personnel who were brought into FAAN without qualification or required experience and yet were given key managerial position have been reviewed as a result of the work done by the committee.
