The aviation industry will gather for the 9th All-Nigeria Airports Business Summit and Expo from August 20 to 22, 2024. The event will hold at the NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. It will unite Nigerian airports, industry stakeholders, and clients for a three-day exchange focused on business opportunities. The summit will also emphasize airport investment and development within the aviation sector. Moreover, the summit will include workshops on navigating the airport business climate.
Notably, the aviation industry models the event after Airport Council International (ACI), making it Nigeria’s only dedicated airport business summit. ABSE aims to implement ACI’s best practices to enhance airport performance and support air connectivity. Therefore, the theme for this year’s summit, “Addressing Airport Viability as a Key to Successful Aviation Business Ambition,” aligns with the government’s plan to boost aviation revenue.
The event will feature several key sessions, including an Airport Master Class on Revenue Generation, discussions on airport viability, safety challenges. It will also discuss airport logistics and cargo operations. Furthermore, special guests will include the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo, along with heads of aviation agencies. Commissioners of Transport from various states, including Hon. Aminu Suleman Takuma, representing the Governor of Niger State, and Mrs. Patricia Ifeoma Igwebuike, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, will also attend.
In addition, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of FAAN, will deliver a keynote on airport viability and chair a special Airport Manager forum on August 20. This session will showcase airport managers’ efforts to market and promote business opportunities.
Afterward, Mr. Josiah Chinyama Mvula of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited and Apple Lee from Munich Airport will lead a workshop. The workshop will focus on Airport Revenue and Route Development, offering valuable insights to the participants.
ABSE 2024 will also include participants from regulatory authorities and handling companies like Nahco and Sahco. Airlines such as Arik Air, Ibom Air, and Aero will also participate. Additionally, various service providers will attend the event, contributing to the discussions.
Fourteen airport states have confirmed their participation in the summit. Ultimately, this summit will be a pivotal event for airport managers and will mark the first airport marketing contest. The contest is aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s airport business profile.
