DANA Air today debunked falsehood alleging that the door of one of its aircraft fell off after landing and whilst taxing in Abuja earlier today.
Some online publications had started posting reports that the door of one of the airline’s aircraft fell off but stated that the allegations were not only untrue and damaging but categorically could never have happened without a conscious effort to open it.
By design, the emergency exit door of our aircraft are plug-type backed by pressure, which ordinary cannot fall off without tampering or conscious effort to open by a crew member or passenger.
A statement by Dana Air of the alleged incident read,”We wish to state categorically that this could never have happened without a conscious effort by a passenger to open it.”

The only way for the door to come off is to fall inward and that means the passenger tried to open it while in flight. Because internal pressure is higher than external the pax couldn’t open it but upon landing when pressure outside was same as inside the door would have fell inward in the passenger had released the door latch. The door can’t fall outward because the outer area of the door is smaller than the inner area so it must go in and then thrown out or placed on the seat. Any other allegation of what happened is fictional or trying to create drama. Police should have checked the passenger in the seats fingerprints against the inner door release, but he was trying to open it. #busted
What we need to know at this time is, did the emergency door open or come off at all.
Right. Their credibility is the only thing their over-compensating statement debunks. It’s very clear their only concern is their reputation.
