Port Harcourt Airport reopened for operations

FOLLOWING yesterday’s Runway skidding incident involving an Air Peace flight with registration number 5N BRN, flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt, the Port Harcourt International Airport runway has been cleared and the airport is now reopened for normal flight operations.

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has issued a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) to that effect in line with standards and recommended practice.

Recall, Air peace Flight P47291 enroute Abuja-Port Harcourt this afternoon skidded off the runway at the Port Harcourt domestic Airport wing, during a torrential rain fall.

The aircraft skidded off the Runway to the left about 1300m from the Runway 21 threshold at the Port Harcourt International airport. All passengers and crew have been evacuated safely. Accident Investigation Bureau has dispatched investigators who are on their way to the site.
