1,743 pupils from Katsina, Kano and Kaduna States participated at the one day forum aimed at sensitizing the public about opportunities at the college , while the other 78 pupils and students were private individuals.
Speaking on the programme, Capt. Abdusalami Muhammed, the rector of the college, said that the aviation school had expected 1500 students for the programme, but almost 2,000 eventually attended the event.
He explained that the event was an eye-opener to many of the attendees who were hitherto ignorant of the various courses offered by the college and the multiple opportunities abound in the industry.
Muhammed emphasised that the participating students were tutored on the activities of NCAT, which were beneficial to them, stressing that the college would make the programme a regular one.
He noted that the Open Day programme achieved its aim of sensitising the public on the activities of the college.
Recalled that the Open Day programme was with the theme: ‘Understanding What We Do Here.’
Muhammed had said that in a statement that the programme was opened to all students across the country, including undergraduates from higher institutions of learning.
