Air Peace attributes flight disruptions to VIP movement, appeals for understanding

VIP movement has been attributed to yesterday’s disruption of  Air Peace’s flights as the airline said its flights could not secure clearance for takeoff because of the movements hence is appealing to its customers to show empathy in the matter.

In a statement signed by its Corporate Communications Manager, Mr. Chris Iwarah, and released to nigerianflightdeck.com, the airline regretted that its loyal customers had to go through a lot of strain due to an occurrence that was beyond its control.

Air Peace explained that it was compelled to deboard its Owerri-bound passengers when it became obvious that its flights to and from the city could no longer take off because of lack of facilities for night operations at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in OweNigerian Flight Deckrri.

The airline added that it had to bear the huge cost of accommodating the affected passengers in hotels, besides compensating them with free tickets on their next flight.

Air Peace said although it rescheduled the affected passengers for a 9.30 a.m. flight on Saturday, some of them unfortunately were not patient enough for the process to run its course.

Some of the passengers, it regretted, became agitated and went to block its check-in counters. The development, the airline added, prevented other scheduled flights from departing and compounded the disruption.

Appealing for the understanding of its customers, especially when disruptions are due to occurrences beyond its control, the airline urged the flying public to have faith in its pledge to always act in their best interests.

“At Air Peace, we are not only uncompromising in ensuring our esteemed customers’ safety, we are also working round the clock to guarantee their comfort and convenience. We urge our customers to always trust us as we will never go back on our customer-centric flight operations,” the statement said.

International Operations: Senate heeds Onyema’s call, set to probe multiple designation

Let me make this clear, Air Peace will never be able to combat international aero-politics without the support of the government. We can only combat it if our government supports us. It is a shame that several Nigeria airlines have come here (Dubai) and they were pushed out either through unfair competition or some arm-twisting tactics, it is very unfair. The only plan we have is the plan of sustainability, to sustain our operations to the best of our abilities. That is so far as we can go, if we are not supported. So Air Peace needs the support of everybody.
