FAAN Fire Safety embarks on retirement training programme

The President of Airport Fire and Safety Cooperatives Multipurpose Credit Society, Mr Richard Tella says the cooperatives is embarking on the training of its members to enable them settle better after retirement

Speaking in his office at the MMA on the activities of the cooperative, Mr. Tella explained that the need arose in order to ensure that retired members were comfortable and live a good life haven contributed to the service of the nation.

Tella explained that the members  will be trained in fisheries production, poultry and other agro-allied productions as a means of sustainable themselves while playing advisory roles as senior citizens.

He noted that the cooperatives was faced with financial challenges to execute some of its planned projects especially debts from pensioners but explained that the cooperatives has worked out plans for the management to deduct at source in order to get their money remitted to the cooperatives account.

Tella also revealed that N80million dividends were paid to members of the multipurpose cooperatives in 2014 and 2015 which gave rise to the financial challenges in the system.

He said as part of efforts by the cooperatives to improve on the welfare of its members that they have planned to build a guest around the airport for its members on transit.

Tella expressed delight that the cooperatives has been able to assist members in resolving issues on some of their houses at the cooperatives estates at OPIC and Iyana Iyesi in Ogun State.
